Some initial thoughts, early this morning, about the possible nature of God:
Would a loving, involved God send a massive tidal wave to kill thousands of random people, or continue to allow mass shootings that kill children?
The way some people behave, that divine spark seems to be missing in a lot of us. So maybe it’s not there and we need to find our own way.
So I’m thinking, more of a hands-off God. Which leaves it up to us, to take care of each other. Love one another, nurture and grow one another.
But that doesn’t mean neglect yourself as you’re supporting others. Your spiritual health is important, probably more important than bolstering others.
I think it’s most important to seek balance in your life. Equal parts fun and work, equal parts people time and me-time, equal parts dinner and dessert. Ok, maybe a little less dessert, but you get the idea. I feel that when people are out of balance, that’s when bad things happen, or at least that’s when unhappiness and maybe even tragedy happen. Seek balance in who you are and all you do. It’s not a tangible, it’s what’s inside you. Look inside and feel, you’ll know if you’re out of balance. Something just won’t feel right. Then look for ways to achieve that balance. That’s the path to happiness.
